REVIEWER GUIDELINES

You have been assigned Active and Honorary Membership nominations to review.  The nominations are listed at the top left of this portal under My Account/My Reviewing Assignments.

To access the respective nomination materials, click on View Application. Each Applicant has a separate file containing the application, proposer/seconder letters, CV/bibliography, and most recent APS deferral letter if re-nominated. You have the option to download and print the material or to review it online. Each file is a PDF.

Each application will be reviewed on the following criteria:

  1. Leadership in Child Health 

  • Research/Scholarship
  • Teaching/Clinical Activities

  2. National/International Recognition

  3. Overall Achievements & Recognition as a Child Health Leader

Evaluate each application and enter your ratings and comments into your Evaluation Form. You must choose "MEETS CRITERIA, DOES NOT MEET CRITERIA, or DISCUSS" from the drop-down menu, and you are encouraged to write your comments in the space provided. These comments will allow for comparing the Primary and Secondary Reviewer's final grading of the nominee if either of you choose "DOES NOT MEET CRITERIA or DISCUSS."

Once you have rated each criterion, you need to assign your Overall Rating to the Applicant by choosing “MEETS CRITERIA, DOES NOT MEET CRITERIA, or DISCUSS” from the drop-down menu. Please note that this is NOT an average score of your other ratings.

Please also note we are asking you to identify only ONE Applicant (of the Applicants assigned to you for review) who you think is most qualified for the Norman J. Siegel New Member Outstanding Science Award.

PLEASE RATE EACH APPLICANT USING THE FOLLOWING RATING SCALE:

MEETS CRITERIA - Unequivocally Meets Criteria and Qualifies for Membership.

DOES NOT MEET CRITERIA - Does Not Meet Criteria and is Not Qualified for Membership.

DISCUSS - Unsure if Qualifications Meet Criteria for Membership.

After you have completed your evaluation for each assigned Applicant, click “Save and Go to Next.”
